Verification of Degrees

Verification requests regarding UZH degrees must contain as much detailed information as possible about the person concerned (last name, first name, date of birth) and their degree (degree obtained, etc.). Private individuals are also required to provide a reason for the verification request in order to ensure the protection of personal data, prevent misuse, and ensure that only legitimate and verifiable requests are processed.

UZH degrees can be verified via contact form.

Without a power of attorney from the person about whom information is to be released, the following details can be disclosed:

• Earned title or degree
• Year of graduation
• Degree program and study program

Doctoral degrees with indication of first name, last name, faculty and title of the dissertation are published monthly in the doctoral lists.

For verification of additional study data and/or degree information, such as enrollment duration or final grades, we require:

• a signed power of attorney
• a copy of a signed identification document (passport/ID) of the person about whom the requested information is to be released.

The processing of a verification usually takes three to four working days.
