Registering Bank Account Information

You are eligible for a refund from the University of Zurich (see letter from the Student Administration Office). You can access the refund form by clicking the link to your right and enter the required information about the bank or post office account to which the money should be sent.

Important Information about Refunds

  • You can have the refund sent to your own account or the account of a person of your choice.
  • Please enter your account information as soon as possible. If you do not submit the form within ten days, the Student Administration Office will send you only one reminder.
  • The credit balance earmarked for repayment (cf. letter from the Student Administration Office) cannot be offset against outstanding invoices.
  • We recommend that you wait at least 20 days after submitting the form before asking questions about missing payments. Your bank is the first address for questions, UZH the second.

Incorrect account information

Please check twice to be sure your account information is completely correct. Incorrect information will cause your bank to reject the payment. Should this occur, the Student Administration Office will write to you and ask you to register the correct account information within ten days.

How to Register your Account Information

Getting ready to enter data

  • You will need the account's IBAN, the name and address of the financial institution, and the name on the account.
  • You will also need the letter you received from the Student Administration Office with the so-called "refund reference numer" (a 10 digit number). The refund reference prevents unauthorized persons from gaining access to the form.
  • In the event that your bank or financial institution is located in a country outside the IBAN system, you will need both your account number and the identification number of the institution where the account is located (BIC (SWIFT), ABA number (USA), BSB number (Australia).

Entering data

The link enter account information will take you to the data entry form. You will find information about the required data next to the input field or the info buttons.

  • Now you can enter the refund reference number (Rückzahlreferenz) you received from the Student Administration Office and the data for your bank or post account, including the name on the account.
  • Please check all information entered on page 5. Up to page 5 you can return to the preceding pages to make corrections, or stop entering data and log out.
  • Once the information you entered is correct, you can submit the form by clicking the button on page 5 ("Überweisung auslösen"). After submitting the form, you can no longer change any information. Refund of fees then takes place automatically.
  • Please print page 6 of the form and keep it until you have received payment.

Your account information will not be saved with the basic data on students. If further payments are necessary, you must enter the data again.
